Would you consider this emotional abuse?

He is NOT treating you OR HIS OWN children with respect! This is not rite for him to do this to you. I would tell he is not only hurting you, he's hurting his own children & is taking from them. Ask him if he would please give you some money so you can at least treat them to a movie or take them out for ice cream. This is just so selfish! Let him know the kids do not deserve this & is this what you have to look forward to in the future? Don't accept the unacceptable. Say what you mean, mean what you say...best to you...:)
